About Me
I am inspired by the human form and its unique characteristics, as well as value, tone and emotions drawn from the subject and pictorial composition. I attempt to combine concepts from contemporary art with the technical rendering found in traditional painting. In my latest series of paintings (pictured above), I render 1920s-era criminals, experimenting with layering and overlapping portraits and technique, of either the same criminal or partners in crime. I am inspired to paint felons from the 20s because of how differently they were documented in the public system, the juxtaposition of their mug shots being regal and dignified (with a full body black and white portrait photograph) while being depicting as a person who was a lawbreaker and criminal, someone who would have probably not been able to afford getting a photo taken of themselves. On the side I love spending my spare time painting commission pet portraits and other commission paintings.
I am available for hire for painting classes in the Central Coast area as well as unique painting and drawing commissions from portraits to landscapes and everything in between.
I Graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2016 with a BFA with a concentration in Studio Arts.
